FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- I completed or enrolled in courses prior to December 2022. Can I still access that information?
- At the end of November 2022, ASTHO launched a new and improved eLearning Center. No completion or enrollment data was brought over to this new platform. If you need confirmation of your coursework dated November 2022 or earlier, please email us at: support@astho.freshdesk.com. This information is only available for courses that provided a Certificate of Completion.
- Do I have to pay to access modules and courses?
- All the modules and learning products are currently free and accessible to anyone who registers. There are a limited number of items restricted for access only by health officials. All other learning products are currently free, openly accessible and offered to advance the work of public health agency staff. Should ASTHO begin offering courses for a fee, we will update this information.
- Are continuing education credits offered?
- We are currently unable to offer CEUs since we make the material available to such a broad audience. However, you can choose to use the modules toward your professional self-study requirements.
- Why do I have to register?
- We are pleased to develop and disseminate learning products for public health leaders. Having registration information allows us to share user data with our funders on how frequently materials are accessed.
- Can I share materials with my staff?
- Yes, please encourage the use of the learning products by your agency staff. If they do not already have an ASTHO username they can register on the site and have access within minutes. It is free and offered to advance the work of public health agency staff.
- What is available from the E-learning Center?
- The ASTHO eLearning Center provides a centralized source of development, training, and performance content that can be offered and accessed anywhere and at any time. It does require a login and password. New content will be added on a rolling basis.
- What if I use assistive technology or have other accessibility needs?
- ASTHO is committed to continually enhancing the accessibility of our courses. Our courses are regularly monitored by internal staff to check for accessibility gaps. We are working to ensure that all required videos in our courses contain captions and/or transcripts. The program strives to ensure that all newly developed and revised courses include structural styling to indicate headings, lists, and tables to assist in page comprehension for screen readers. The program continues to strive to format our courses to be compliant with the recommendations on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 (opens in a new window)
